The Wellcome Trust is a premier UK-based charitable funder of biomedical research. Founded by Sir Henry Wellcome, the foundation today is funded by a 26.8 billion GBP investment portfolio. In 2021, The Trust adopted a new strategy to support science and solve the urgent health challenges facing everyone, primarily through the involvement of those directly affected in the research process, thereby providing better understanding and solutions to these challenges. Funding are available for researchers based in the UK, Ireland, and low/middle income economies as defined by the World Bank.
