The 2023 Global Team Science Award from the Lupus Research Alliance supports multidisciplinary research teams to address particular questions and challenges associated with human lupus. Some areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Genes and function – understanding the functional effects of variants, genes, and pathways on lupus
- Microbiome and lupus development and progression
- Understanding the underlying mechanisms contributing to differential responses to SLE therapies
- Biomarkers and SLE clinical subsets
There should be at least 3 but not more than 5 co-PIs to address one research question through complementary expertise. The applicant must hold an MD, PhD, DVM, or equivalent academic degree with a faculty position or equivalent at a college, university, medical school, or comparable institution anywhere in the world. The Award provides up to 1 million USD per year (including 10% indirect costs) for up to 3 years. The letters of intent are due on August 1, 2022, and invited full applications are due on March 1, 2023.
