The Advanced Clinical Research Award (ACRA) for Diversity and Inclusion in Breast Cancer Research is funded by Conquer Cancer and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation to support the career development of breast cancer researchers who are from underrepresented populations in biomedical research. In the USA such underrepresented populations include Black or African American, Hispanic or Latino, American Indian or Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian and other Pacific Islanders. Applicants must
- be a physicians (with MD, DO or other international equivalent degree);
- have had a successful postdoctoral training;
- demonstrated the ability to lead independent research projects;
- be within 5-10 years of their first faculty appointment;
- and are ASCO members.
The Award provides 450,000 USD over 3 years, including travel support to attend the Conquer Cancer Grants and Awards Ceremony at the ASCO Annual Meeting. Applications are open to both US and international applicants. Applicants who are new faculty members, please refer to the Career Development Award. Letters of intent are due on November 14, 2022. Applications close on January 12, 2023.
