The Advancing Equity and Implementing National Strategies to Improve Diagnosis is a one-year, part-time remote leadership development opportunity for mid-career professionals in the USA from a broad range of disciplines and professions — including physicians, advanced practice clinicians, quality experts, informaticians, and researchers. The program is funded by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation together with the National Academy of Medicine (NAM) and the Council of Medical Specialty Societies (CMSS). The program includes monthly educational sessions, mentorship, a $35,000 grant (indirect costs allowed), and an additional $5,000 domestic travel funds.
The program seeks exceptional mid-career applicants who:
- Have earned a doctoral degree* in a relevant discipline and completed all post-graduate training
- Have confirmation from academic department, health system, or equivalent that they have— and can dedicate— sufficient time to participate in the NAM Scholars’ program activities and complete their proposed program in the allotted time
