Biomarker Project Awards (cancer research UK)

The Biomarker Project Awards from Cancer Research UK (CRUK) provide funding for early-career and established researchers based in the UK working on cancer biomarkers. This grant accepts applications for biomarker assay development, validation and qualification where there is a clear path to clinical implementation.

  • All types of biomarkers will be considered, including predisposition, screening, diagnostic, prognostic, predictive, pharmacological and surrogate response markers.
  • Proposals can use invasive or imaging techniques.
  • Biosamples or images can be collected as part of the proposal or accessed from existing sample/data sets.

This scheme does not fund biomarker discovery projects. Applicants should be early-career or established independent researchers or clinicians based at a UK university, research institution, clinical center or clinical trials unit. Applicants may apply for up to 100,000 GBP/year for up to 3 years. Funding may be used for salaries for researchers and technical staff, running expenses and equipment (no indirect costs). Applications close on November 24, 2022.
