Challenge Programme 2024 – Disentangling insulin resistance (Denmark)
The Challenge Programme 2024 – Disentangling insulin resistance from the Novo Nordisk Fonden (NNF) supports research teams working to improve understanding of the mechanisms and molecules regulating insulin sensitivity and the development of insulin resistance with a stratified human-centric point of departure, in order to develop candidate therapies targeting insulin resistance. The programme will have a special focus on disruptive and innovative approaches to tackle the challenge and should include novel state-of-the-art technologies such as the integration of multiple omics data, single-cell sequencing, CRISPR technology or organoids on a chip. The programme supports research teams composed of 2-4 research groups. Funds may be used for:
- Salary for scientific and technical employees
- PhD Tuition Fee
- Infrastructure and/or access to large infrastructures
- Operating expenses
- Collaborative activities
- Conference participation
- Publication costs
- Bench fees
- Administrative support of up to 5% of the total budget (must be directly related to the project)
The programme provides between 30-60 million DKK over 6 years.
