Climate Research Grant (USA)

The Climate Research Grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) supports research that addresses climate issues and manages competitive research programs that support high-priority science initiatives. The two competitions that are covered by this grant are:

  • COM: Research to Improve Precipitation Analysis Datasets
  • CVP: Identify and understand key land-atmosphere processes that influence coupled-model precipitation biases in the continental United States.

COM – The grant will fund projects for 1 or 2 years and the amount will be around $125,000 to $250,000 USD per year.
CVP -The grant will fund projects for 1 or 2 years and the amount will be around $150,000 and $225,000 USD per year.

Indirect costs are included in this grant. Institutions of higher education, other nonprofits, commercial organizations, international organizations, and state, local and Indian tribal governments are eligible to apply for this grant. Letters of intent (LOIs) for all competitions are due at 5:00 p.m. (EST) on October 31, 2022. The deadline for full applications for all competitions closes on January 26, 2023 5:00 p.m. (EST).
