Digital Physical Therapy Research Grant (USA)
The Digital Physical Therapy Research Grant from the Foundation of Physical Therapy Research (FPTR) supports research projects that evaluate, assess or develop treatment plans to address patient needs or conditions using digital products or technology. Any practice setting or patient population relevant to physical therapy can be considered. Examples could include, but are not limited to using digital products or technology to:
- Conduct telehealth visits,
- Perform remote therapeutic monitoring (RTM),
- Monitor patients’ status,
- Develop treatment plans,
- Treat illness, or injury,
- Facilitate health and wellness.
The applicant must work at a U.S. institution. Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents. The maximum funding amount is 40,000 USD for 1 or 2 years. Indirect or overhead costs are not included. Funds may be requested to meet any type of expense reasonably associated with the research project, including salaries and fringe benefits, purchase or rental of equipment, supplies, travel, publication costs, printing or postage, and special services such as computer time, photographic services, and secretarial or research assistant support.
