The Dissertation Fellowships for ROC Students Abroad from the Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation for International Scholarly Exchange support doctoral candidates in New Zealand, Australia or Japan working on Chinese culture studies. Applicants must be working on topics related to Chinese culture and society, the development of the Republic of China, or Taiwan Studies. Applicants must be citizens of the ROC. Applicants should have completed all other requirements for their Ph.D. degree, and must be in the last year of their doctoral program. The fellowship provides 20,000 USD for one year. The Grant does not cover institutional overheads. Applications may be submitted between August 1 and October 15 each year; grant recipients will be informed in early June.
