Emerging Global Leader Award (AIDS research in developing countries)
The Emerging Global Leader Award from the Fogarty International Center of the NIH supports junior faculty members at biomedical research institutions in low- / middle-income economies (as defined by the World Bank and with exceptions based on income status) to provide protected research time. Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of these countries. Applicants must hold at least a research Master’s degree and preferably a PhD. Applicants should be researching AIDS-related biomedical topics (see related grant for non-AIDS biomedical researchers). Female researchers and researchers from underrepresented communities are encouraged to apply. The Award provides up to 105,000 USD/year (including 8% indirect costs) for up to 5 years. This is an annual award and the next closing date is December 9, 2022.
