The Health Equity Research Network (HERN) on Improving Access to Care and other Health Inequities in Rural America research grant is funded by the American Heart Association (AHA) to support innovative research for solutions to meaningfully impact rural health disparities. The HERN on Rural Health will be a single network that will include multiple projects. Applicants must be AHA members. At least 25% of research team key personnel must be from a group or groups under-represented in science and medicine. The AHA will fund one HERN comprised of five projects and one Coordinating Center. Funding of up to 20 million USD, including 10% indirect costs, is available for 4 years.

Presubmissions are due on January 26, 2023, and invited full applications are due on April 4, 2023.
