The Comparative Research on Determinants of Differences Among Human and Nonhuman Primate Species in Life Spans, Life Histories, and Other Aging-Related Outcomes, and Prospects for Translation (R01 Clinical Trial Not Allowed) research grant funded by the National Institutes of Health supports R01 applications proposing comparative studies of human and nonhuman primate species with differing life spans to identify factors whose cross-species variation may contribute to differences in species life span and health span. A focus of such studies may include (but are not limited to) factors contributing to human’s greater life span compared to other primates. Studies that involve primary in vivo or in vitro data generation and/or analyses of existing data or biospecimens are encouraged. Applications are open to researchers at research institutions in the USA and worldwide. Application budget is not limited and projects may span up to 5 years.

Opportunity number: RFA-AG-24-019.

Letters of intent are due on August 13, 2023. Full applications close on: September 27, 2023.
