Idea Development Award (cystic fibrosis worldwide)

The Idea Development Award from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation provides funding for early-stage research worldwide to generate sufficient preliminary data for subsequent grant applications with the foundation or the National Institutes of Health.

To develop a large, multi-center clinical research study, the awardee may receive support that includes — but is not limited to — the following:

  • meeting/workshop/travel support for the study team and collaborators
  • establishment of the research team
  • development of study design
  • finalization of protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • obtaining regulatory approval(s)
  • collection of feasibility assessments or feedback obtained through surveys and/or focus groups with people with CF, their families, or others in the research community

The Award provides research funding of 50,000 USD +12% indirect costs for 1 year. Applications close on February 2, 2023.
