The Mathematical and Physical Sciences Ascending Postdoctoral Research Fellowships funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) support the postdoctoral training of American researchers in mathematics and physical sciences. The program aims to broaden the participation of members of groups that are historically excluded and currently underrepresented in MPS fields in the U.S., defined in this solicitation as Blacks or African Americans, Hispanics, Latinos, Indigenous and Native Americans, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians and other Native Pacific Islanders, as future leaders in MPS fields. Applicants must be citizens, nationals, or permanent residents of the USA. Research may be conducted in the USA. The fellowship consists of 100,000 USD/year for up to 3 years and does not cover indirect costs. The fellowship funds may be used to cover fringe benefits, including health insurance provided through either a group plan offered by the host organization or an individual plan secured by the Fellow, dental and/or vision insurance, disability insurance, retirement, dependent care, and moving expenses.
