The Optimizing Health of Children and Adolescents with Perinatal HIV Exposure (U19 Clinical Trial Optional) funding program from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) supports research projects that would lead to information needed to develop and to test interventions for the early detection and reduction of long-term effects of in utero/perinatal exposure to antiretroviral therapy (ART) and/or HIV among individuals who are HIV exposed but uninfected (IHEU). Investigators with innovative thinking and new approaches to address the public health issues facing IHEUs are encouraged to apply. Applications are open to researchers in the USA and worldwide. The budget is not limited but needs to reflect the actual needs of the project. Funding is available for up to 5 years.
