Pilot and Feasibility Grant – ELSI (alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency)
The Pilot and Feasibility Grant funded by the Alpha-1 Foundation support researchers working on the Ethical, Legal, and Social Issues (ELSI) Relating to Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency and its related rare disease. Proposals may come from a broad spectrum of disciplines, including humanities, social and natural sciences, and health professions. This grant mechanism seeks to support the development of novel approaches relating to informed consent, conflicts of interest, organ allocation, genetic testing and/or genetic discrimination, but applications may address all of the following or other related areas. Applicants may apply for up to 75,000 USD over 1 year (no indirect costs).
This is an annual award and the next letters of intent are due September 29, 2023 and invited full applications are due February 2, 2024.
