Research Scholar Grants (early-career independent cancer researchers)

American Cancer Society´s Research Scholar Grants provide funding for early-career independent researchers (within the first 10 years of independent research career) to support research on cancer. There are no citizenship restrictions; applicants must be based at a US institution. The Grants provide up to 200,000 USD/year (plus 20% indirect costs) for up to 5 years. Applications must be within the 6 research priority areas of the Society:

  • Etiology (Causes of Cancer)
  • Obesity/Healthy Eating and Active Living (HEAL)
  • Screening and Diagnosis
  • Treatment
  • Survivorship
  • Health Equity Across the Cancer Control Continuum

There are two assessment rounds per year, with closing dates on April 1 and October 15.
