Sir George Alberti Research Training Fellowship (UK healthcare professionals PhD/MD diabetes research)

The Sir George Alberti Research Training Fellowship from Diabetes UK provides funding support for healthcare professionals (e.g. a doctor, nurse, midwife, psychologist or dietitian) to work toward their PhD or MD in diabetes research at a UK diabetes research institution. Applicants must have identified a mentor prior to applying for the fellowship. Applicants must hold a qualification that enables them to practice medicine within the UK. Candidates of any nationality may apply but must have been residents of and working in the EEA (European Economic Area) for three years before applying. Successful applications requiring a visa to work in the UK are eligible to apply for a Global Talent Visa under the fast-track process of endorsement. Applicants may apply for up to 300,000 GBP over 3 years (direct costs only). This is an annual award and the next applications close on November 1, 2022.
