The Prize for Young Scientists from Science and SciLifeLab is an annual prize rewarding scientists worldwide at an early stage of their careers. The Prize was established with the fundamental principle that a vibrant research community contributes to global economic health. With this in mind, the Prize recognizes researchers in the areas of:

  • Cell and Molecular Biology
  • Genomics, Proteomics and Systems Biology approaches
  • Ecology and​ Environment
  • Molecular Medicine

Applicants must have completed their doctorate in the past 2 years. Applicants must submit an essay describing their thesis work in one of the qualified categories. In each of the categories, a winner will be chosen, who will then compete for the grand prize. The prize money is 30,000 USD for the grand prize winner and 10,000 USD for each of the category winners.

The deadline for applications is July 15, 2023.
