The Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) Cooperative Research Centers (CRC): Vaccine Development (U01 Clinical Trial Not Allowed) research funding from the National Institutes of Health seeks to advance vaccine candidates for gonorrhea, chlamydia and syphilis by supporting IND-enabling activities. Applications must include a Product Development Strategy. This is a Cooperative Agreement, which means that there will be substantial federal scientific or programmatic involvement. Substantial involvement means that, after award, NIH scientific or program staff will assist, guide, coordinate, or participate in project activities. Applications are open to researchers at research institutions in the USA and worldwide; small businesses may also apply. Applicants may apply for up to 1.4 million USD/year in direct costs over 5 years.
