The Support for Research Excellence (SuRE) Award funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) supports faculty investigators with prior experience in leading externally-funded, independent research in biomedical sciences. NIH believes in the benefits of a diverse scientific workforce and so supports research projects and institutions that enroll significant numbers of students from groups underrepresented in science with Support of Research Excellence (SuRE) program.
Applicants must be program directors or principal investigators in a U.S.- based institution. Individuals from diverse backgrounds, including underrepresented racial and ethnic groups, individuals with disabilities, and women are encouraged to apply.
Direct costs of up to 100,000 USD/year will be funded for up to 4 years. Applications are due on May 26, 2023, at 5:00 PM local time of the applicant organization.
