The TWAS-LUMS Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme is supported by the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS/UNESCO). The fellowship supports young scientists from developing countries (other than Pakistan) to pursue postdoctoral research in Natural Sciences and Engineering in Pakistan in the following subject areas:

  • Structural, Cell and Molecular Biology
  • Biological Systems and Organisms
  • Chemical Sciences
  • Engineering Sciences
  • Mathematical Sciences
  • Physics

Applicants must hold a PhD in a field of natural sciences and be a maximum of 45 years old. Also, applicants must be nationals of developing countries other than Pakistan. Candidates must be regularly employed in a developing country and hold a research assignment there. The fellowship provides a monthly stipend for a period of 6 to 12 months. The applications are assessed on an ongoing basis and the call remains open throughout the year till October 11, 2028.
