The US-Ireland student mobility programme launched by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) supports Ireland-based PhD students to collaborate on research projects in academic laboratories in the U.S. for a period of 4 weeks to 12 weeks. The programme helps PhD students from the SFI funded Centres for Research Training (CRT) to connect with academic laboratories at the National Science Foundation (NSF) Research Traineeship Program (NRT).
The program aims to support PhD students to broaden their network, develop skills and widen career exposure. The applicants should have completed first year of their PhD studies. A letter of confirmation from the Irish host institution should be submitted indicating that the applicant is an active CRT student and has the support to participate from their supervisory team.
The funding will be provided up to 6,000 EUR per individual for a period of 4 to 12 weeks. Costs for the application for a US visa will be covered. The deadline for the applications close on January 17, 2023
