Women RISE: Research to support women’s health and economic empowerment for COVID-19 Recovery (Canada + developing countries)
The funding opportunity Women RISE: Research to support women’s health and economic empowerment for a COVID-19 Recovery that is Inclusive, Sustainable, and Equitable from the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) supports research on immediate and medium-term solutions for post-COVID-19 recovery that will improve gender equality and health equity. The following types of research are considered in scope: epidemiological studies, population health research, intervention, and implementation research, infectious diseases, HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections (STBBI), pandemics , and other health emergencies. Research teams must be led by a researcher based in low or middle income countries and include a co-lead researcher based in Canada and a relevant decision-maker. The decision-maker should be based in the country where the research is taking place. Projects will have a duration of up to 24 months and a maximum budget of 1,000,000 CAD per grant. Application for the concept notes will close on April 2022. Application for full proposals will close on August 2022.
