The 2nd Energy Storage Grant Call (2023) from the Energy Market Authority (EMA) Singapore supports industry-led R&D projects to develop and testbed innovative Energy Storage Systems (ESS) solutions to address Singapore’s needs. Specifically, research proposals that address the following topics are of particular interest:

  • Innovative ESS solutions

  • Innovative urban deployment topologies

  • More efficient and cost-effective methods of repurposing used Electric Vehicle (EV) batteries

The Grant Call is open to research consortia comprising Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), Public Sector Research Institutions (RIs), public sector agencies, not-for-profit organisations and/or private sector companies in Singapore. Proposals shall be led by a “Host Institution”. IHL are eligible for 100% funding support, including 30% for institutional overheads. Maximum project duration is 3 years.
