Beginning Investigator Grant for Catalytic Research (BIG Cat – Africa cancer research)

The Beginning Investigator Grant for Catalytic Research (BIG Cat) from the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) facilitates the capacity building of African cancer researchers. The Grant supports early career independent cancer researchers in Africa. The proposed projects may be in any area of cancer research, including research, clinical research, population-based research and translational research across the cancer care continuum (prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment, supportive and palliative care, and survivorship). Applicants must be independent researchers who have completed their highest degree (MD, PhD or equivalent) in the past 10 years and reside/work in Africa. The grant provides 55,000 USD for 2 years (including up to 10% indirect costs). Letters of intent are due on September 7, 2022 and full applications are due on December 13, 2022.
