The Career Development Awards from the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation seek to promote the career development and transition to independent basic researchers working in the area of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Applicants should identify a senior investigator to act as a mentor to facilitate the transition to independence. There are no citizenship requirements but applicants must be employed at a US-based institution. MD applicants must have at least 5 years of experience after their terminal degree with at least 2 years of IBD research experience; PhD applicants must have at least 2 years of IBD research experience; applicants should not be more than 10 years beyond attaining their doctorates. The Awards provide up to 90,000 USD in funding (a mix between salary and other benefits) for 1-3 years.
There are two assessment rounds per year – the next application closing dates are as follows:
