Clinician Scientist Fellowship (UK)

The Clinician Scientist Fellowship funded by the Medical Research Council (MRC) supports healthcare professionals to become independent researchers. The supported work must be conducted in the UK and applicants must:

  • be a registered healthcare professional
  • have a PhD or equivalent
  • show evidence of career progression
  • show clear plans for developing as a leader in a specialist area of research

Applicants must have a PhD by the start of the fellowship and have the support of a research organization eligible for MRC funding. Non-UK recipients of the award are eligible for a Global Talent visa. The Fellowship provides funding for salary and project costs for up to 5 years, and covers up to 80% of the full economic costs of the research. The next applications open on October 14 and close on January 11, 2023.
