The European Foundation for the Study of Diabetes (EFSD) and Lilly Young Investigator Research Award Programme is funded by the European Foundation for the Study of Diabetes (EFSD) and the pharmaceutical company Lilly. The program aims to encourage innovative research in the fields of diabetes and its complications, and to promote excellence in medical education. The applicants must have shown their excellence in diabetes research.
Applicants must be members of EASD and must have received their highest degree (PhD, MD, DMD, DVM, or equivalent) no more than five (basic scientist) or seven years (clinician) before January 1, 2023. For clinicians holding more than one qualifying degree (e.g. MD PhD) or with a clinical specialist degree/board certification, the time since the first degree may not exceed ten years before January 1, 2023. Time periods spent on maternity/paternity leave, long-term illness will be taken into account upon providing adequate documentation.
Applications are invited from diabetes researchers at non-profit research institutions in Europe and Associated Countries.
The award provides 50,000 EUR to each of the award winners. Applications close on February 15, 2023, 12:00 midday (CET).
