EMBO Postdoctoral Fellowships (life sciences)

Share

The EMBO Postdoctoral Fellowships support excellent postdoctoral researchers in the life sciences working in European laboratories. The award includes a stipend for up to two years and additional benefits. International exchange is compulsory as part of this program. Applications are open to researchers worldwide with some mandates on host location depending on your citizenship (broadly speaking, EU nationals may conduct research anywhere in the world, whereas non-EU researchers must work in the EU). EMBO has expanded its scope beyond molecular biology and also explores biological phenomena at the cell, tissue, organism, population or ecosystem level. The Fellowship provides a host country-dependent cost of living stipend + additional benefits (financial support for dependent children and relocation costs). The Fellowship does not cover bench fees, overheads, funds for consumables or any other financial benefits to the host supervisor or the receiving institute. Applicants may apply at any time throughout the year. There are two assessment rounds per year:

Spring evaluation: includes all eligible applications submitted by the second Friday of February, 14:00 Central European Time. Results for this round will be announced at the end of May or beginning of June.

Autumn evaluation: includes all eligible applications submitted by the second Friday of August, 14:00 Central European Summer Time. Results for this round will be announced at the end of November or beginning of December.

The next application deadline is 2pm CET on August 11, 2023.
