Fellowships for Advanced Social Science Research on Japan (USA)

The Fellowships for Advanced Social Science Research on Japan is a joint initiative between the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and the Japan-United States Friendship Commission (JUSFC). The fellowship promotes Japan studies in the United States, to encourage U.S.-Japanese scholarly exchange, and to foster the next generation of Japan scholars in the United States. Appropriate disciplines include anthropology, economics, geography, history, international relations, linguistics, political science, psychology, and sociology. The fellowship especially welcomes applications from researchers who have completed their terminal degree in the past 7 years. Applications are open to US citizens. Non-US citizens must be conducting their research in the USA. The fellowship provides 60,000 USD for 1 year.
