The Funding Programme Lost Cities from the Gerda Henkel Foundation provides research funding for humanities research teams worldwide working on “Lost cities, Perception of and living with abandoned cities in the cultures of the world”. The Programme is open to research teams of PhD holders in the humanities or social sciences who are affiliated with a university. There are no restrictions on citizenship or research location. The funding covers staff, travel and equipment costs for up to 36 months. PhD scholars are funded at 1,600 EUR/month. For postdocs this funding is at 2,300 EUR/month. For established researchers this funding is at 3,100 EUR/month. The programme does not cover indirect costs/overheads. Additional funding is provided for successful applicants with children. The next application closing date is May 24, 2023.
