The Future Leaders Fellowships from UK Research and Innovation (including the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), Innovate UK, Medical Research Council (MRC), Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), and the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC)), support early-career researchers making the transition to independent researchers at research institutions in the UK. Applications are also open to qualified researchers from abroad, and successful applicants are eligible for a Global Talent visa under the ‘exceptional promise’ category for future research leaders. They must have the support of their host organisation. Applicants may apply for funding for projects up to 4 years.
