The Grants for the Conservation of Threatened Soil Species from The Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund support global efforts for the conservation of threatened soil species. Additionally, the fund awards grants for various plant, animal, and fungi species conservation efforts globally. Applications are open to all individuals and organizations involved in species conservation initiatives.

The organization follows IUCN Red List and gives priority to those species facing a hight threat of extinction (with an emphasis on Endangered and Critically Endangered species), as well as those which are listed as Data Deficient or unlisted but are suspected as highly threatened.

Applicants may apply for a maximum of 25,000 USD per project (no indirect costs).

There are three grant rounds per year. The next application deadline is on February 29, 2024.
