HFG Emerging Scholars (natural & social science worldwide)

The HFG Emerging Scholars from the Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation (HFG) recognize researchers worldwide contributing to our understanding of violence, including but not limited to:

  • War
  • Crime
  • Terrorism
  • Family and intimate-partner relationships
  • Climate instability and natural resource competition
  • Racial, ethnic, and religious conflict
  • Political extremism and nationalism

Research that deals with urgent, present-day problems of violence are preferred. Applicants must be PhD candidates, entering the dissertation stage of graduate study. The funding is 25,000 USD for 1 year. This is an annual award and the next applications open on November 1, 2022 and close on February 1, 2023.
