International Research Scientist Development Award (global health)
The International Research Scientist Development Award (IRSDA) from the Fogarty International Center of the NIH provides funding for US postdoctoral researchers whose research interests are related to the health priorities of the low and low-middle income countries (LMIC, see World Bank´s classification of low and low-middle income countries). Applicants should have at least 2 years of research experience post their doctoral degree, and are US citizens or permanent residents. Research should be conducted with mentors in both the US and LMIC, and the recipient should be physically based in the LMIC for at least 50% of the project duration. Fellowship duration is for 3-5 years and provide funding of up to 100,000 USD/year in salary and 40,000/year in research expenses.
