J. Andrew McKee Fellowship in Type 1 Diabetes (Canada)

The J. Andrew McKee Fellowship Program in Type 1 Diabetes supported by Stem Cell Network (SCN) and JDRF (Formerly called the JDRF-SCN National Fellowship Program in Type 1 Diabetes) supports newly qualified, post-doctoral scientists entering their professional career in the T1D research field to join the JDRF Centre of Excellence at UBC.

Post-doctoral researchers who are in early stage in their career are eligible to apply. Applicants must receive MD, DMD, DVM, PhD, or equivalent degree at least two months prior to the commencement of the fellowship. Applicants must not be simultaneously serving an internship or residency.

This opportunity is open to applicants based in Canada or internationally with no citizenship restrictions. Applicants must be legally permitted to reside and work in Canada to take up the award. Applications are encouraged from persons with disabilities or members of minority groups underrepresented in the sciences.

One award will be provided through the program each year in 2022-2026 for the successful applicant to take up at UBC as part of the Centre team. The duration is for 1 year with an additional 2 years of funding support from the supervisors at the Centre of Excellence. So, the successful candidate should anticipate their time at the Centre for at least 3 years in length.

60,000 USD per year (Stipend-57,500 USD and 2,500 USD research allowance) will be funded through this program. The deadline for final application closes on February 28, 2023, 17:00 ET.
