The Klingenstein Third Generation Foundation Medical Student Fellowship Program invites medical schools in the USA, particularly those from geographic locations not currently represented in the program or that are under resourced in child and adolescent psychiatry services, to submit an application for consideration to join the KTGF Medical Student Fellowship Program. The Program exposes medical students to clinical experiences in child and adolescent psychiatry, children’s mental health research, advocacy, and mentorship, and encourages students to explore careers in child and adolescent psychiatry.

The applicant who initiates the process must be a faculty member in the department of child and adolescent psychiatry at a medical school, who if selected would serve as Program Director for the institution’s Klingenstein Third Generation Foundation Medical Student Fellowship Program.

Each program receives $5,000 in funding, paid in two disbursements of $2,500 over the course of five years.

The next applications close on April 8, 2024.
