The LEO Foundation Dr Abildgaard Fellowships support talented, emerging research leaders with ambitions to establish or expand an independent research group at a Danish institution, and to pursue novel and important research questions within skin and skin diseases. In 2023, applicants can apply within one of two research themes:

  • Advanced Therapeutics Research in Skin Diseases
  • Systems Medicine in Dermatology

Applicants may apply for up to 12 million DKK over 5 years. The funds may be used for:

  • Salary for the main applicant
  • Salary and mandatory benefits for project-group members (scientific and technical)
  • Running costs, incl. tuition fee for PhD students and bench fees
  • Equipment
  • Publication costs
  • Travel and conference participation
  • Indirect administrative costs up to 5%
