The Matthew Gerdisch Fellowship in Arrhythmia Surgery, provided by the American Association for Thoracic Surgery (AATS), aids fellows from North America focusing on arrhythmia surgery. This initiative backs fellows seeking to undertake a year-long program at recognized training institutions in North America, which have established mentors specializing in Arrhythmia (ART) surgery.

Applicants must be in an approved CT training program, be fluent in English and meet all necessary criteria (license, visa, etc.) for travel to and from host training site. ACGME or non ACGME approved CT residents are able to apply.

Two levels of awards will be granted:

  • Level One: Grants of up to 25,000 USD for ACGME fellows, to be disbursed directly to the institution.
  • Level Two: Grants of up to 50,000 USD for non-ACGME fellows, to be disbursed directly to the institution.

Application window opens on April 1, 2024. Applications close on July 1, 2024.
