Dr. Nancy Foster Scholarship Program funded by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) supports master’s and doctoral students working in oceanography, marine biology, maritime archaeology, engineering, social science, marine education, marine stewardship, cultural anthropology, and resource management disciplines with scholarships.
Dr. Nancy Foster Scholarship Program provides, subject to appropriations, yearly support of up to 42,000 USD/student. This includes a 12-month stipend of 30,000 USD in addition to an education allowance of up to 12,000 USD. Up to 10,000 USD of support for a 4-6 week program collaboration at a NOAA facility is also provided through this scholarship.
For doctoral students, the support is provided up to four years. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents or a citizen of a U.S. territory. Women and members of minority groups are encouraged to apply.
