Research Leadership Awards (UK researchers)
The Research Leadership Awards from the Leverhulme Trust provide funding for UK-based newly independent researchers to establish their research groups. Applicants should have at least 2 years of full-time post-PhD research or teaching experience at a university and have a contract with a UK-based university that extends beyond the duration of the Award. While most disciplines are covered by the grant, the following areas are not funded due to the wide availability of alternative sources of funding: biomedical research for human or animal diseases, research with clinical applications, policy research, and research with direct commercial applicability. The Award provides 1 million GBP for staff salaries and associated costs, for up to 5 years. The Grant does not cover institutional overheads. There can be only 1 application per UK academic institution. Applications close on June 10, 2022.
This is a triennial award and the next round opens in 2025.
