The Spinal Cord Injury Research on the Translational Spectrum – Pilot Research Grants from the Craig H. Neilsen Foundation support new investigators in the field of spinal cord injury research and assume the risk inherent when established investigators undertake new directions in their work. Applicants must have a doctoral degree or other equivalent terminal professional degree, be beyond the postdoctoral level (i.e., Instructor, Assistant Professor, or equivalent research position) at the time of the FGA submission, and demonstrate appropriate experience to serve as an independent PI. The research must be conducted at a research institution in the USA or Canada.

The Grants provide up to 200,000 USD/year for up to 2 years, including up to 10% indirect costs. Part of the funds may be used for open access publication charges.

Applications open on April 26, 2024. Letters of intent are due on June 7, 2024. Full applications are due November 8, 2024.
