The Women Involvement in Science and Engineering Research (WISER) program, funded by the Indo-German Science and Technology Centre (IGSTC), promotes women researchers in India and Germany in science, technology, innovation, and research partnerships.
Women researchers or entrepreneurs holding regular or long-term positions in academic, research institutions, or industrial research organizations in India or Germany are encouraged to apply to participate in an ongoing R&D project of their interest with acceptance from the host team. There is no age limit, but preference will be given to early or mid-career researchers. The duration of the grant support will be for a period of 3 years or until the completion of the project (whichever comes earlier). It will also cover one visit per year for a short stay of up to 1 month.
The grant covers basic project assistance for the awardee in the parent country and a one-month research stay in the host country (including single round-trip airfare, visa fee, medical insurance, and per diem for the stay). The maximum budget for three years will be up to ₹ 39 lakhs or €48,000.
Applications are assessed throughout the year.
