Women’s Health Career Development Award (dermatology | USA)

The Women’s Health Career Development Award from the Dermatology Foundation supports early-career dermatology researchers focusing on women’s health issues. Funding is available for research in the areas of women’s health issues, which range from disorders that affect primarily women, such as lupus and scleroderma, to the effects of hormones and environmental factors on the skin and cutaneous aging.  Applicants must be based in the USA and:

  • hold an M.D.; M.D., Ph.D.; Ph.D.; or D.O. degree
  • have appropriate initial training in biomedical research (i.e., two- to three-year fellowship or postdoctoral training)
  • the proposed research focuses on women’s health issue (see above)
  • are junior investigator in the early stages of academic career
  • demonstrate a strong commitment to skin research

The Awards provides salary support at 55,000 USD/year. Career development awards may be renewed annually for up to a total of three years of funding.
