The Research on Research Institute (RoRI) is launching a new publication: Funding by Algorithm – A Handbook for Responsible Uses of AI and Machine Learning by Research Funders.
This handbook is the outcome of the GRAIL project, a two-year international collaboration that examined how research funders can apply AI and machine learning responsibly in funding and assessment processes. It brings together practical guidance, insights, strategies, and global case studies to support funders navigating the evolving landscape of AI in research systems.
The online launch event will present the key lessons from the handbook and feature reflections from leading research funders who are already exploring or implementing AI in their practices.
