The Accelerating Impact for Hard-to-Treat Cancers Award from the Children’s Cancer Research Fund (CCRF) supports projects that enable the prevention, early detection, treatment, and improvement of outcomes for pediatric cancers that remain hard-to-treat.

This grant mechanism facilitates basic, clinical, and population studies. Projects may encompass a range of activities, such as pilot and feasibility studies, secondary analysis of existing data, small self-contained research projects, development of research methodology, and creation of new research technology. The foundation welcomes applications that are either new or derived from a previous pilot study, as well as applications (R03, R21) that have undergone review but were not funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).


  • Applicants must be PI-eligible at their sponsoring institution.
  • Applications will be accepted only from US-based institutions.
  • U.S. citizenship is not a requirement.

The grants provide 125,000 USD per year for 2 years. Indirect costs at of 10% of Direct costs are allowed.

Letter of Intent (LOI) submission deadline: April 5, 2024. Successful LOI applicants are invited to submit the final application by July 8, 2024.
