AJ-CORE (Africa-Japan Collaborative Research)
The AJ-CORE (Africa-Japan Collaborative Research) research funding from the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) supports collaborative environmental science research projects between Japanese researchers and their counterparts in Africa. Participating countries include Japan, South Africa and Science Granting Councils Initiative (SGCI) African countries (Botswana, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Nigeria and Sierra Leone). For researchers based in Japan, the grant provides up to 18 million JPY for 3 years (including up to 30% indirect costs).
