The Seed Grants from the ALS Association support the generation of preliminary data serving as the basis for larger grants that fund impactful research in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Topic of particular interest are proposals that address:
- Drug target identification
- Biomarkers
- Prevention research
- Clinical tools and techniques
- Big data approaches
- Assistive technology
- Studies to document and reduce the harms of ALS on caregivers and families of people with ALS
- Any other proposal with the potential to significantly improve the lives of those impacted by this disease
Especially encouraged are early-career investigators in ALS and investigators from outside the field of ALS. Applications are welcome from researchers with relevant competencies worldwide. This funding provides up to $50,000 USD total costs for 1 year, with indirect costs limited to 10%. A letter of intent is due on April 25, 2023. Full applications are by invitation only and are due on June 27, 2023.
