The Career Awards for Medical Scientists (CAMS) from the Burroughs Wellcome Fund support clinician-scientists in the USA or Canada to pursue academic research careers. The Awards facilitate the transition from a mentored research position to an independent faculty research position. Applicants must hold a clinical doctoral degree, including M.D., D.O., D.V.M., or D.D.S. Applicants must be within 13 years of completing their clinical degree and hold a non-tenure track faculty appointment. Applicants must have the legal rights to work in the USA or Canada. The Fund encourages applications from clinician-scientists who identify as women or those who are from underrepresented populations in biomedical research. The award provides 700,000 USD over 5 years (no indirect costs). Applications close on October 4, 2022.
